I was sleeping a bit again in the airplane from Brisbane to Melbourne, but not enough, I feel not only tired, even a bit sick now and my brain is not working properly anymore and I am very confused where I am and what I just did. During the day I pushed myself with energydrinks to walk around Melbourne and see a bit of the city. There is loads of shopping opportunities here, the variety is just amazing. So today I have been in a big shopping mall for the first time in 4 months. Also there are some nice little cafes, also parks and I was walking around the Yarra River, from where I enjoyed some nice views with the city skyline. But I am freezing today, it is definitely quite cool here, around 18 degrees, but I am so used to hot temperatures that I was wishing to wear a beanie, scarf and gloves, even my ears and face were getting to cold. In Brisbane it was alright during daytime, but at night I was also freezing even with wearing a couple of jumpers. In Darwin and on the station it was very hot lately, like sauna temperatures, so I am extremely sensible to cold now.
However my main impression for the day is, that really everyone was extremely polite and friendly to me, even though I actually was the opposite. Because I feel not that well with headache from lack of sleep, I was kind of grumpy sometimes. Weirdly enough, everyone was smiling at me or wanted to help me or the people in the shops were very kind with excellent customer service skills. Also when I took photos and some people were running accidentally into the photo, they apoligized 1000 times. They were so polite, as I experienced the Canadians all the time, when I was living in Vancouver last year. In Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney or the country people were not that friendly, more normal, but not that polite. I don’t know if its Melbourne or I just attracted all nice people today.
It is now 10:30 pm and again another timezone, it is 1 hour later than in Brisbane or 1.5 hours later than in Darwin, there it is 9:00 pm.
In memories of the nice sunset, I have seen in Darwin, I just did a sketch of that and hopefully it will warm me up a bit now!
